On Saturday, January 18, at 7 p.m., 20 scouts from Troop 128 went to Sport Rock climbing in Alexandria, an indoor rock climbing area. Some scouts came early at 6 p.m. to work on the requirements for the Rock Climbing merit badge. There, the scouts learned how to tie a “Super 8” knot, how to belay, and how to use a climbing harness properly. After the instruction, the scouts got to climb until 1 a.m., when they either could pull an “all nighter”, or go to sleep. Many Scouts played cards until 2 a.m., then turned in for the night. In the morning, they had breakfast and left.
