USCGC Taney

This weekend the guys of Troop 128 had the opportunity to sleep aboard the retired Coast Guard Cutter Taney in Baltimore Harbor. The crew assembled on the dock in the early evening and after quickly stowing their gear reported for duty. Each scout was assigned to a team with specific jobs to do. The Taney sailors were given a tour of the various posts and jobs the Coast Guard crew would have done when the ship was in active service. After the tour the boys ate a meal then returned to do more work. When the job was done, the guys settled into the berthing area to go to bed.

Each scout took a turn on night watch and checked the status of the ship.

In the morning, the scouts completed some additional duties, ate breakfast in the galley, then departed back home to DC.
