Dear all scouts and parents,
This year, the venture crew is holding a venturing for vittles (scouting for food) event on December 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church from 9 am to 1 pm. All food donations will be given to Share of McLean.
Venturing for Vittles is an event where the community donates food and we (scouts) take the donations and give them to the Share of McLean. What YOU can do to help is bring boxes. Medium-size boxes (copy paper size) that will be used to consolidate food and organize the food into categories will be greatly appreciated and if you can donate please contact BOXES@CREW128.ORG.
We want your donation to be big, so please send the flyer attached to everyone you know. Collect from your family, family friends, friends, neighbors, anyone and bring it to St. Johns Episcopal Church on December 11th from 9 am-1 pm.
When donating, please consider the following.
- Please no glasses and No oversized items
- Please no items past their expiration date
- The Share needs paper shopping bags with intact handles and reusable grocery-size bags.
- The Share also needs empty egg cartons
There is an oppurtunity for groups of scouts to win Doughnut Parties. If your patrol collects the food in pounds (lbs) for Venturing for Vittles will win a doughnut party. You have to fit the criteria given and please don’t fill everything up with Water.
Please remember to get people around you involved also. I would also recommend you talk to your patrol if you are interested in some doughnuts! Please feel free to use the flyer attached!
